Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers on timelines, implementation, data quality, tools, and how we measure success.

Implementation & Timelines
How long does implementation take?
Initial setup (data sync, baseline automation, dashboards) typically takes 4–8 weeks. Full maturity — cadences, advanced workflows, and governance — is achieved across 3–6 months, depending on complexity and scope.
Do we need engineering resources?
Minimal. Most orchestration is declarative and configuration-based. Engineering is engaged only for custom integrations, security reviews, or heavy data transformations — typically less than 5 hours in a standard engagement.
What does the first week look like?
Week 1 is discovery and scoping. We map your existing revenue motion, audit your current tech stack, inventory data quality issues, and define what “good” looks like for your specific business. You’ll have a clear roadmap by end of week.
Data & Technical Questions
What if our CRM data is messy?
That’s exactly what we’re here for. We include profiling, cleaning, normalization, and deduplication to establish a trusted baseline — then enforce quality via ongoing automation, SLAs, and monitoring so it stays clean.
Which CRM and marketing tools do you integrate with?
We work across the major GTM stack: Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot, Outreach, Salesloft, Gong, Gainsight, Totango, Snowflake, Looker, Tableau, and more. We’ll assess your specific stack during discovery.
Do you support product-led growth (PLG) motions?
Yes. Our Full-Stack RevOps model specifically covers PLG alongside enterprise, renewal, and expansion motions. We connect product usage signals to your CRM and build PQL scoring, handoff automation, and expansion playbooks.
Outcomes & Measurement
How is success measured?
We align on KPIs before we start: conversion rate, sales cycle time, NRR/GRR, forecast accuracy, CAC payback, and automation savings. Progress is reviewed monthly with a shared dashboard — so you always know exactly where things stand.
How is DataWater different from an in-house RevOps hire?
An in-house hire ramps over 3–6 months and is one person. DataWater brings a team with proven playbooks, tool expertise, and a structured implementation process — delivering results in weeks, not quarters. Many clients use us to build the foundation, then hire into it.
What does a RevOps audit include?
Our audit covers: data quality assessment across all GTM tools, workflow and automation inventory, pipeline stage analysis, forecasting methodology review, dashboard and KPI gap analysis, and a prioritized remediation roadmap.
Engagement & Pricing
Do you offer fractional or part-time RevOps support?
Yes. Our Core RevOps Launch is scoped for teams that need a strong foundation without a full ongoing retainer. We also offer fractional ongoing support as part of our Full-Stack model — the right level for your current stage.
What does a typical month of Full-Stack RevOps look like?
Each month includes: a pipeline health review, workflow iteration and optimization, dashboard updates, data quality monitoring, and a monthly sync with your GTM leadership. You get both execution and strategic guidance.
